RTF6-ELCAC Statement on the Indictment of CPP-NPA-NDF personalities for Qualified Human Trafficking
On February 15, 2021, a joint law enforcement and social welfare team together with family members and relatives of several IP children from Talaingod, Davao del Norte conducted a rescue operations at the retreat house of the University of San Carlos, Talamban Campus, Cebu City. Nineteen IP children were rescued in the said operations.
There were open admissions from those who were arrested, as well as from their supporters, that the 19 IP children are attending what they refer to as a Bakwit School under the United Bakwit School Program. These Bakwit schools are adopted by the Salugpungan group and by the Save our Schools (SOS) Network.
Allegedly, it was claimed that it was the Archdiocese of Cebu that requested the University of San Carlos to accomodate the request to house the 19 IP Children attending the Bakwit school.
After the rescue operations, the NTF-ELCAC and the government were attacked by the propaganda machinery of the CPP-NPA-NDF and by self-proclaimed "human rights defenders".
Some of those who were arrested claimed to high heavens that they are only volunteer teachers.
The villification of the NTF-ELCAC and our law enforcement agencies were at an all time high.
Fast forward to 2022.
Two of those who were arrested at Talamban during the rescue operations, Chad Booc and Gelejurain Nguho, and who claimed to be volunteer teachers only were among those who died in an encounter with state security forces in New Bataan, Davao de Oro .
Jong Monzon and Rurelyn Bay-ao, former CPP-NPA-NDF members; and who decided to leave the terrorist organization to pursue a life of peace gave testimonies on the connection between the Bakwit schools and the SOS to the CPP-NPA-NDF and several front organizations.
They also revealed that Chad Booc and Gelejurain Nguho are not only volunteer teachers but members of the CPP-NPA-NDF.
Despite the mudslinging and the rabid black propaganda hurled by the CPP-NPA-NDF and by their front organizations against the NTF-ELCAC and the men and women composing the task force, in the end their lies and deception are shattered by the TRUTH.
In the end, the TRUTH vindicates the NTF-ELCAC.
In the end, the CPP-NPA-NDF lies and pattern of deception shall be exposed and those who pretend to be mere "activists" or "human rights defenders" will be unmasked.
Recently, the cases for human trafficking filed against several individuals involved in the rescue operations of the 19 IP children in Talamban Cebu City were resolved by the proper prosesution office and several respondents were indicted, including the late Chad Booc and Gelejurain Nguho.
The RTF6-ELCAC joins the IP community of Talaingod in celebrating this victory against the CPP-NPA-NDF and their front organizations who caused misery and despair to the IP communities of Mindanao by their rampant exploitation and recruitment of IP children to fill in the ranks of the CPP-NPA and to raise funds to finance their terroristic activities.
With this very welcome development, we express our solidarity with the people of Talaingod in their quest for a just and lasting peace.
We also reiterate our call to the other sectors, particularly the churches and some educational institutions,
Open your eyes to the truth. Accept the bitter fact that the CPP-NPA-NDF has deceived you in the past.
Do not be deceived again.
To parents and all those entrusted with the care of children,
Be vigilant and watchful. Do not allow your children to be recruited by the CPP-NPA-NDF thru their front organizations. They will steal away your children.
The CPP-NPA-NDF has no qualms recruiting children. In fact, they target children, students, and the youth to join their ranks.
The CPP-NPA-NDF has lost its soul and its conscience a long time ago, and that is when they adopted a policy of recruiting children and wantonly caused the deaths of these children by making them fight for a godless cause, for the most vile of intentions, that is to satisfy their lust and insatiable greed for money and power.
This is the enemy that the NTF-ELCAC and the peace loving Filipino people intend to crush.
We can only win the Peace by ending the local communist armed conflict.
